This is one of my favorite pictures with Ashton and me. I was so excited and also scared about becoming a mom. I really wasn't prepared for the scared feelings. I really thought I knew it all. Before Ashton was born I thought "Hey I can manage 18 children in a classroom, how hard can one little baby be". I have learned so much about myself over the past 10 months it's sometimes hard to stomach. I've especially learned that I am just beginning to learn what it is to be a selfless person. I love being Ashton's mom. I love the person I am developing into because of my experiences with him. I am becoming a better person in every sense because of him. Wow what a trooper he is to put up with such an amateur like me (: .

Ashton and Cole clicked before Ashton was even born. When I was pregnant and Cole would say something near my big belly Ashton would kick and kick. When Ashton was born and the nurses put him on my lap he immediately raised his head by himself after he heard Cole's voice above him. Cole is a wonderful dad. He can get Ashton laughing and giggling to the point where he has to stop so Ashton can catch his breath.

This photo was taken at the hospital the morning after Ashton was born. I still can't stop looking at him. It's facinating to watch him take in and discover the world.

Wow! What a Grandpa and Father in Law Milt is. He has such a big heart. When we are over at their house Ashton reaches for Grandpa Milt to hold him. He loves listening to Milt sing and play the guitar. With how much Ashton loves the baby mozart music cd I'm betting that he will be interested in the future in learning a few music tips from his Grandpa.

My dad works magic with babies. Ashton is a busy boy. He doesn't slow down much. He usually sleeps through the night (which is awesome) but during the day he fights the whole nap idea. Come to think of it we've all been trying to slow my dad down during the day too. It's been a joy to watch my parents with Ashton. It already is amazing what they have done for me, and it is even more remarkable how the whole picture affects Ashton too.

We visit and eat dinner with Grandma Pete on Wednesday nights. Ashton squeels and tries to jump out of my arms when he sees Grandma Pete smiling at him. We really enjoy spending time with her. It's a special blessing to have such a good Grandma.

Ashton helps me with the laundry by checking all of the washed clothes to make sure they are good and clean. He is eating Cole's socks in this picture. Thank you for washing machines!

Ashton loves to play hide and go seek. He also enjoys playing a baby form of tag.

We crawl around with him on the floor. He laughs and laughs.

Grandma Rob is an Ashton favorite. He squeels and dances when he sees her. If Ashton is taking a nap in his carseat when we visit her we have to be careful not to let him hear her voice because if he does he will wake up quickly wanting to play.
